Black Nickel Plating (Glossy / Matt / Gun Metal)
Striking non-reflective dark nickel coating over engineered undercoats for luxury consumer goods and military applications.
Process Overview
Black nickel plating is typically applied on brass, bronze, or steel in order to produce a sophisticated, non-reflective dark surface. A dull nickel layer is applied before the black nickel; if a brighter finish is required, a bright nickel is applied instead of the dull layer.
The nickel deposit is coated with a suitable organic coating to guarantee long-term wear resistance. Black nickel plating is sought after for both high-end decorative appointments and tactical military purposes requiring anti-glare properties.
